Parents,
It’s Midterm Testing Season at Truth Spring Academy and we have high hopes! We use Star Literacy, Star Math, Star Reading and Saxon Math for testing. These scores are going to be weighed against student scores from the beginning of the school year. Parents, testing is so important and I want all of us to engage this testing season with careful attention and focus. To do so results in us being able to serve our students as effectively as possible because we can make the most informed decisions regarding our student’s education.
Testing will begin with 3rd-5th grade students staying Friday afternoon from 12pm-2:15 to take Star Math, after the K-2nd dismiss for their half day. The afternoon will begin with us meeting with all of these students and holding our “Do Your Best on the Test” Meeting. Following this meeting, all 3rd-5th grade students will then report to their testing environments and complete the Star Math Test. Once all students have completed their tests, we will hold a Sundae Party for those who did their best on the test. They will then dismiss by 2:15, Friday.
Parents, as you know, 2nd-5th grade will then come to school Monday and Tuesday for their testing appointments. They will complete their Star Reading test with their testing facilitator. I want to thank each of you for getting a testing appointment scheduled and taking this so seriously (K and 1st will test at school this week in a one-on-one environment).
Once all testing is complete, Parent Conferences will be scheduled for January 5th-7th. At these conferences, testing results will be presented and reviewed. Grades will also be discussed as well. Please do all that you can to schedule these conferences, as your teachers reach out to you. Students return to school Monday, January 10th.
As we look forward to the second semester, we must continue to place the greatest value on our student’s education. Parents, we value academics, our students will value academics. As parents, we must prioritize reading times and homework times at home - this is essential! As we return, let us all commit to running strong toward the finish of the school year. I am looking for strong academic gains come end-of-year testing!
I want to thank you, parents, for all that you do! We have been through so much together and I look forward to continuing to do our best to create an educational environment soaked in the love of Christ and academically rich for our students. I hope each of you have a wonderful Christmas. I can not wait to start the second semester!
